Cooper Bussmann introduces the Bussmann® easyIDTM family of circuit protection products to meet maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and OEM needs for open circuit protection. Products with easyID technology
can be used for hundreds of applications to help identify an open fuse, whether local or remote. Cooper Bussmann is the first company to bring easyID technology to market in an entire family of products, including:
- Low-Peak® Fuses
- CUBEFuseTM
- Safety JTM Class J Fuse Holders
- Surge3TM Surge Suppressors
- Telpower® Fuse Holders and Fuses
- Safety ModuleTM
- Optima® Fuse Holders and Switched Fuse Holders
- SamiTM Fuse Covers
- CH Series Global Modular Fuse Holders
- High Speed Fuses
The easyID technology allows improved visual indication of the fuse status. With the Bussmann Low-Peak and CUBEFuse products, for example, electricians can easily see whether a fuse is open. If the window shows black, the fuse has opened. There’s no in-between color, so there’s also no question whether a fuse needs to be replaced. The new Safety Module disconnect combines CUBEFuse indication technology
with a large easyID window for even greater worker safety. The door does not have to be opened — workers can simply look through the window to see either a white or black indicator on the CUBEFuse device. The benefits of easyID technology blend with the overall benefits of Bussmann fuses, holders, switches and panels:
- Reduced Downtime. Low-Peak time-delay, current-limiting fuses offer superior protection against short circuit faults that can destroy motors and motor starts. Fewer faults mean less downtime and lower cost for replacement equipment.
With easyID replacement fuse indication, troubleshooting time is reduced. The technology also allows remote sensing for centralized monitoring.
- Improved Safety. Replacement fuse indication supports required safeworking practices by quickly identifying
problem circuits. In addition, IP-20 finger-safe fuse holders and Bussmann CUBEFuse fuses and holders protect against accidental contact with energized parts.
- Reduced Arc-Flash Risks. Low-Peak Class J and RK1 fuses, and CUBEFuse dual-element, time-delay fuses reduce arc-flash hazards while allowing easyID indication. Each has current-limiting capability that minimizes
short circuit current levels, as well as the most reliable permanent fuse indication available to minimize the hassle of false indications.
- Reduced Inventory. Low-Peak fuses, with or without indication technology, can reduce inventory reducing
inventory maintenance investments.
