Community
Since 1926,
Irby has worked to give something back to the communities we serve.
Part of our company’s vision is to be a responsible, caring and
involved community citizen, sharing our time and financial resources.
Today, Irby employees actively support the following non-profit
organizations. We hope you will, too.
The Power of Hope Fund was established by Entergy Corporation to
provide assistance for individuals, families and Entergy employees
who were impacted by Hurricane Katrina. The fund will benefit those
who need assistance rebuilding their lives after Katrina. The focus
of the fund is to help families get back on their feet after the
disaster.
Unlike relief agencies that focus primarily on
immediate needs, the Power of Hope will help survivors transition
from shelters back into the community. In this way, the Power of
Hope is complementary and not duplicative of efforts by outstanding
organizations such as the American Red Cross and Salavation Army.
Contributions are tax-deductible. Administrative fees are being
waived, so 100 percent of each donation will go directly to provide
aid to hurricane victims.
Current fund total is over $3.9
million. Contributions are accepted by mail, phone or online at:

Big Brothers and Big Sisters are, foremost, friends to children:
They share everyday activities, expand horizons, and experience
the joy in even the simplest events. Within those little moments
lies the big magic that a Big Brother or Big Sister brings to the
life of a young person. Professionals in youth development support
these individual, responsible relationships. And national research
has shown that the shared experiences between Bigs and Littles have
a direct and lasting impact on children's lives. A Big Brother or
Big Sister can help a child discover a world of possibilities and
opportunities simply by being a genuine friend.
