SUMMARY
Schedules appointments, gives information to callers and
otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor
administrative and business detail by performing the following
duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate
file to correspondence to be answered by employer.

Composes and types routine correspondence on typewriter
and/or computer.

Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence
and other records.

Answers and screens manager's telephone calls, and arranges
conference calls.
- Coordinates manager's schedule and makes appointments.

Greets scheduled visitors and conducts to appropriate area
or person.
- Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations.
- Conducts research, and compiles and types statistical reports.

Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves
and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes
of meetings.
- Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
- Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes.
- Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
No special qualifications are needed except as listed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Perform responsible secretarial and clerical work of average
difficulty with speed and accuracy. Organization, policies,
procedures and rules for assigned department.
- Record-keeping techniques.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Type at 55 net words per minute from clear copy.
- Operate a variety of office equipment such as typewriter, computer, calculators and copiers.
- Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Meet schedules and time lines.
- Plan and organize work.
- Train and provide work direction to others.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Work confidentially with discretion.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

- Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and basic math skills.
- Ability to use a personal computer and understand various software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is frequently required to stand. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical environments include offices, light industrial,
commercial, utility and manufacturing. The noise level
in the work environment is usually moderate.
