The digger blades are made of heavy-gauge alloy steel designed for years of dependable service. The fulcrum members are made of a heavy channel steel and are welded to the fulcrum bracket (no rivets to shear off). Two bolts hold each handle securely to the digger head making them easy to replace when necessary.
The diameter of the hole produced by each digger is approximately 6". The operating action for the solid-handle digger begins with the handles together. The handles are then pulled apart with a side-to-side motion to capture the load. With the split-handle digger, the operator uses a forward-and-back motion. The split handle design has a wider blade opening, which allows for a larger hole to be dug.

The improved Chance fiberglass handle Expanding and Tamping Bar simplifies the job of expanding anchors. The curved Expander and Tamper Head distributes the weight of the bar evenly around the anchor rod to reduce handle vibration. The hook of the Expanding and Tamping Bar wraps around the anchor rod to keep the expanding head from slipping off the anchor top plate. This tool is also effectively used for tamping in soil above the installed anchor. The base casting is attached directly to the fiberglass handle.
*Includes plug mix to reset handle.

Spoon Shovel blades are made from the same high-carbon steel as the rest of our shovel line. We use our own unique patterns to manufacture the Eastern and Western styles.
Western Pattern (W) is designed for harder, clay-like soils.
Eastern Pattern (E) is designed for lighter, sandier soils.
Both designs have a scoop shape for lifting mud, water and backfill from deep holes. The shovel straps and handle have footage markers to indicate hole depth.

Cant Hooks are made with hardwood handles and high-carbon steel hooks which are heat treated and tested. Our unique hook-stop prevents the hook from falling back and damaging the wooden handle.
As with our entire cant and peavy line, any hook can be placed on any of our handles. Our #5 and #7 sized hooks are used to handle smaller size (AT&T) poles. The sockets, clasps, clips and toe-ring parts are made of high-grade malleable iron.
Swivel-Point Cant Hooks are designed to meet the need for a cant hook which does not scar the pole. The swivel point is made of two "floating" plates, which are secured to the end of the hook by a bolt. This bolt allows the plate to swivel, minimizing damage to the pole. The teeth on the toe ring provide a tight grip on a wide range of pole diameters.
Note: Different Style Hook & Handle Lengths are Available.

Oshkosh Tool Skidding Tongs are made from round, high-carbon steel bar stock, which is hammer forged and heat treated for consistent strength. The tong sides are flattened evenly for a larger pivot bearing surface. This allows the pivot to be shorter and ensures the hooks stay in proper alignment. Each tong unit is heat treated and 100 percent hardness tested to assure high quality. The tongs are made in either "ring only" or "swivel hook and ring" style.
Skidding Tongs are intended for pulling or skidding material and are not load rated. They must not be used for overhead lifting.

Pike Poles are used to pike or support a pole when setting in the field. The twisted pike will screw itself into a hard pole. While it takes considerable effort to pull it straight out. Turning the pike pole as one would turn out a screw provides easy release. The pike is made of a single piece of steel with an up-set face which takes the force of the end thrust. A rivet runs completely through the malleable iron ferrule, handle and pike to secure them to the pole.
Pike Poles can be furnished with or without a safety Point Guard. The guard works easily and fastens securely in either the guarded or open position.
Note: Different Sizes & Styles are Available.

A hydrophobic two-part polyurathane, expanding foam designed to rapidly provide intermediate backfill for setting utility poles. It forms a low-density, high-strength foam that can structurally support the pole, maintain its upright positions, and hardware can be strung after 15 minutes. Serves as a barrier impending the migration of preservation materials into the surrounding soil and ground water. Displays excellent adhesion to wood and manufactured poles and does not require the use of primers.
