This special combination rope blends the compatible and unique characteristics of Polyester and Polypropylene synthetic fibers.
The outer jacket yarns are made up of Polypropylene filaments with a covering sheath of Polyester. These cover yarns give superior resistance to abrasive or frictional wear. The inner yarns are made of Polypropylene for good strength and low weight.
Breaking Test: Close to 1-1/2 times the strength of manila rope with considerably lower weight. Excellent strength to weight ratio.
Energy Absorption: Good ability to handle shock loading and repeated loadings. Elongation under load is less than for Filament Nylon but slightly higher than for Filament Polyester ropes.
Decay Resistance: 100% resistant to rot, mildew or marine organisms. Very little deterioration due to sunlight, none due to aging.
Chemical Resistance: Very good to excellent resistance to alkalis and solvents; good resistance to acids.
Abrasion Resistance: Excellent resistance to both external and internal wear.
Recommended Use: Public utility stringing lines and bull rope, heavy marine mooring hawsers, tree trimmers line, guy lines, hoisting rope, many commercial fishing applications.

Available in 600 and 1200 foot reels.
Polypro 6 rope is made from filaments extruded in our own mills from resins, which meet our high standards. This rope is available in 3-strand and 8-strand plaited construction, and a full range of sizes is available from stock.
Breaking Test: Polypro 6 has nearly twice the strength of manila rope, size for size. Actually stronger wet than dry, yet so light it floats. Superior strength-to-weight ratio.
Energy Absorption: While superior to manila in energy absorption, polypropylene will retain more elongation longer and recover more slowly than either nylon or polyester. However, over a normal workload range polypropylene elongation is 15-25% less than for filament nylon.
Decay Resistance: Will not absorb water, cannot rot or decay, it is resistant to all organisms. Polypropylene should be stored away from direct sunlight when not in use.
Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to acids, good resistance to alkalis and solvents.
Abrasion Resistance: About the same as manila. Care should be taken to avoid undue abrasion. Internal wear resistance is slightly better than manila.
Recommended Use: Tarpaulin and tent tie-down, dock and anchor lines, boat lifelines, danger zone and pool barrier rope, public utility lines and general use in marine, construction, commercial fishing, petroleum industries, farming, and in the home.
