United Way

As the nation's leading community solutions provider, United Way invests in and activates the resources to make the greatest possible impact in communities across America. The United Way movement includes approximately 1,400 community-based United Way organizations. Each is independent, separately incorporated, and governed by local volunteers. United Ways bring communities together to focus on the most important needs in the community -- building partnerships, forging consensus and leveraging resources to make a measurable difference.

Irby has earned an excellent reputation for caring about and supporting the communities where we live and work and we believe that United Way represents the largest and most efficient approach of providing people-to-people help.  Irby recognizes the important and ongoing human services provided to people through United Way. This philosophy is part of our corporate vision: "To be responsible and involved citizens of our communities, both corporately and personally, utilizing our time and resources."  

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross (ARC) is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education inside the United States. It is the designated U.S. affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; communications services and comfort for military members and their family members; the collection, processing and distribution of blood and blood products; educational programs on preparedness, health, and safety; and international relief and development programs.

Salvation Army

"Doing The Most Good." In these four words, our mission - to feed, to clothe, to comfort, to care, to rebuild broken homes and broken lives. The Salvation Army operates 7,546 centers in communities across the United States. These include food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children's programs. Our work is funded through kettle donations, corporate contributions, and the sale of goods donated to our Salvation Army Family Stores. Eighty-two cents of every dollar we spend supports our various missions across the country. .

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is an international non-profit Christian sports ministry based in Kansas City, Missouri. FCA was founded in 1954. It has staff offices located throughout the United States and abroad. It is well known for promoting Christianity in public schools around the United States.

FCA's mission is "to present to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church."

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association (AHA) is a non-profit organization in the United States that fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke." Its motto is "Learn and Live".

Down Syndrome of MS

The Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society (CMDSS) was established in July 2003. Its first project was the 1st Annual Central Mississippi Buddy Walk held in October 2003. More than 500 people turned out to show their support of individuals with Down syndrome. It was an overwhelming success and showed the tremendous need for an advocacy organization for people with Down syndrome and their families. A very active group of parents have united together to share ideas, offer emotional support, provide educational information, and to actively promote a positive image of people with Down syndrome in our community.

MS Kidney Foundation

The mission of the Mississippi Kidney Foundation, chartered in 1965, is to serve Mississippi kidney patients by providing quality programs and services, to provide public education and screening to promote the prevention of kidney disease, and to promote organ donation throughout the state.

Diabetes Foundation of MS

The overall goal of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi is to care for the 373,000 Mississippians who have diabetes through a wide range of services and programs. The DFM accomplishes this goal through support of comprehensive statewide diabetes education and informational programs, assisting families with newly diagnosed children, sponsoring Camp Kandu for children with diabetes and their families, providing camperships for Camp Hopewell in Mississippi and other diabetes camps, sponsoring educational programs for people with diabetes and health professionals, promoting campaigns to increase diabetes prevention, awareness and advocacy for all Mississippians with diabetes and providing direct patient services for needy families.

Brain Injury of MS

The Brain Injury Association of Mississippi was founded in 1987 and serves people throughout the state of Mississippi. It is a private, non-profit corporation whose goal is to serve persons with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, their families, caregivers, and professionals. The Association is an affiliated member of the Brain Injury Association of America. The Brain Injury Association of Mississippi is a 501(c)(3) corporation. As such, all donations, gifts, membership dues and bequests are tax deductible.

Pecan Park Elementary - Jackson, MS 

Pecan Park Elementary was built in Jackson, MS in 1927.  Today, over 500 students attend the pre-elementary through 5th grade school.  Irby has been a proud sponsor for Pecan Park Elementary for over 30 years.   Irby offers its financial support to Pecan Park to help with improvements such as playground equipment, facility upgrades, book bags and supplies for students, musical instruments, etc.
